Links roundup! Image resources for bloggers
If you have a blog — and there are some who think that all freelance writers, authors and journalists should — you might have an image problem. Specifically, unless you’re a photographer, it can be hard to find decent pictures to break up the text and beautify your blog posts.
Here are a few good posts I’ve run across lately with tips on how to solve that dilemma.
• Looking for Creative Commons images to use for free? This post, titled “How to find free photos to use on your website legally” gives a basic rundown on how to do that.
• Here’s a great post, called “Where to Find Images for Blogs, etc.” with lots of advice… plus links to 17 different sites that offer free images. (Hat tip to Krystyna Lagowski for this link, posted during a recent PWAC Twitter chat.)
• It’s not just bloggers who can make use of free images. Earlier this month, GalleyCat wrote about an author who used public domain images to create a cover for his novel. The post provides links to several public domain image resources, too.
• And if you have the time and the energy, Journalism.co.uk suggests there are a lot of benefits to be gained from improving your camera skills so that you can take your own photos. In a recent post, they linked to 50 tips on improving your photography.
