Massey College Press Club to host discussion on Idle No More
The Massey College Press Club has organized a last-minute event for Tuesday January 22nd called Reporting from Attawapiskat: Idle No More and Journalism in Canada.
The Press Club promises “a vibrant discussion of Canadian reporting on First Nations issues and the Idle No More movement.” Conversation between Anishinaabe professor of politics Hayden King and documentary filmmaker Victoria Lean will be moderated by Mary Agnes Welch (an aboriginal affairs journalist for the Winnipeg Free Press). The evening will begin with a short preview of Lean’s forthcoming film on Attawapiskat.
The event starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Massey College Upper Library and will be followed by a cash bar in the Common Room. Everyone welcome, no need to RSVP.
